Oh Canada!

About a year and half ago my BFF Yissel called and asked if Jeff and I would like to join her and her hubby Matt in Victoria, British Columbia for a week this summer. Fast forward a year and a half and two baby boys later and we just bought tickets for our vacation!! We will be staying right down town and seeing the sights. I went to Victoria for the first time as a junior in high school ... and fell in love. It is such a beautiful city - I can't wait to go back! Our babies will get to meet each other for the first time and we get to celebrate her baby's 1 year birthday!

We had to get Landon a passport - you should see his picture - he looks thrilled, I assure you :)!

Victoria here we come!!

Girlfriends

Yesterday Stepper invited me to go to the Woman's Expo with her. It was so much fun! We walked around looking at the booths and chatting. And it got me thinking about all of my girlfriends, and what they mean to me.

My mom, Ale and I went out to the Brick Oven Friday night, and again, that got me thinking. There we were, just chatting like girlfriends. We covered all the important topics ... clothes, hairdressers, travel plans, past (and in Ale's case current) boyfriends. It was just plain fun.

Since having Landon I feel like all these ladies have rallied around me. Almost all of our friends already have kids, so they really knew exactly what to say and do to make me feel supported. And even those who don't yet just seemed to know exactly what to talk about. They brought in meals, offered to go to Wal-Mart and the grocery store, called to check in to see how things were going, cooed over Landon and empathized with recovery. I hadn't ever really stepped back to see how many wonderful women I am friends with until now. Unfortunately, I think I took a lot of it for granted. But now I really see what they mean to me and how important they are. And I am so grateful! So for each of you (because I know you read this frequently!) thank you, again, for being there!

Really?!

Doesn't the rhyme go "April showers bring May flowers"?

April showers I can handle ... but the saying doesn't include "freezing cold downpour (and possibly snow in some areas) where you can see your breath and doesn't stop for a few days." Granted that wouldn't rhyme at all, but the point remains the same ... showers not downpour.

It's SPRING folks ... let's go back to the sunshine!

A New Addiction

I've never been a big TV person - I just never have been. But every once in a while I find a show that is just too good to not get addicted to. And now I have two ...

Modern Family - oh my heck this is so funny! My absolute favorite character is Cam - he is just a crack up. And who can't relate to a crazy, messy big family. LOVE IT!

Glee. Wow. So, right before we had Landon we went out with our friends Scott and Jacqueline to Chili's and then to a movie. Well, unfortunately most of Provo had the same idea and all the movies were sold out. So Jacqueline said she had the episodes of Glee at their house - so we decided to watch them. It was love at first watch! So Jeff and I rented the entire rest of the first season and plowed through them in preparation for this season. I'm seriously obsessed! Pathetically so, actually. I think it is because I was in show choir in High School, and am such a dork that I would have LOVED to be in a Glee club. The idea of randomly singing through the school and having a soundtrack of your life is just so appealing somehow. And because Sue reminds me just a bit of my cheer coach. And because the jokes Sue makes about Will's hair never cease to make me laugh. And I love the drama (which is funny, because in real life I hate drama, and I did in High School too)! Whoever thought of this show is just brilliant - it's made this non-TV person a believer :)

Catch an episode of one or both of these and let me know if it makes you an addict too ... unless you already are one :)

My Favorite Things

I'm pretty certain that every single part of Landon is my absolute favorite thing. I could wax philosophical for hours about his adorable baby parts ... but today I have a funny favorite ... his man-sized farts. I'm not even kidding ... they are hilarious and amazing all at the same time. I am not a proponent of farting in general; it's disgusting. But something that loud coming out of his adorable little bum ... priceless :)

Landon Pictures

When Landon was 2 weeks old we had his pictures taken by a photographer that works with newborns and kids (sarahwardphoto.blogspot.com). She was fantastic! I just HAD to have pictures of his tiny adorable-ness ... and these turned out so cute. I couldn't be happier with them! I can't believe he is already almost a month old (Thursday!), and he seems so much bigger. So it makes me even more glad to have captured pictures of him so little. These are just a couple of my favorites ... but I hope you like them!

This last one is my absolute favorite! I can't believe she captured his smile! Every time I see this one it melts my heart all over again!

Big Weekend

We had a big weekend around our house! Grandma and Grandpa Terry, Great-Grandpa Crosby and aunt LouAnn got to come up and meet Landon for the very first time! They seemed quite taken with each other overall.
This is a four-generational picture. Capturing this type of thing is rare, so we feel very blessed!
And somehow the Easter Bunny just happened to know that Landon would be at Grandma and Grandpa Wuthrich's for Easter dinner... and left him this! I think Jeff and I will have to help him with those goodies, but Landon sure loves his book!

Mondays

Mondays are for to-do lists, and errands, and catching up after a leisurely weekend ...

Or they are for snuggling up together on a comfy nursery chair for a post-bottle nap.

To-do lists can wait ... babyhood can't!
