Laundry Day

This morning I decided to do baby's laundry. As I sat there taking all the tags and stickers off of each little shirt and pair of pants I just kept thinking ... is it even possible that anyone is so small?! And if so ... how on earth am I going to know what to do with him?

Tea Party Shower!

This last weekend three of my beautiful and talented friends threw me a baby shower! I really couldn't feel more spoiled or loved - everything was planned to the most minute detail and obviously done with lots of love!

The theme was a tea-less tea party. Here is the invite - adorable isn't it?!
My mom and I have always loved tea parties, so the theme was perfect. We learned all about tea and etiquette for a tea party. And the tables were set to perfection - so pretty and lady like! And all real china!! All of my guests got to write me letters and tell me what they wish for our baby. And then we ate the most delicious food ... and so much of it! There were salads, cucumber sandwiches, real scones and jam, and sweet bread with "tea" choices of raspberry limeade or hot chocolate. Please note in particular the adorable multi-sized cupcakes ... isn't that clever?! And everything was done up in the same color's as our nursery.
Kristie and Jacqueline made me this:
And then we had a contest to see how many diapers there were. My mother-in-law, Marie who was sweet enough to drive up with my sister-in-law Lisa and two of my nieces guessed the exact right answer - 75! There were a couple of other games, and then I got to open a mountain of beautiful gifts! We are much more prepared for our little guy to arrive!

I couldn't be more grateful for the beautiful shower, or for how loved I felt every second of it!

It's love...

My Mr. surprised me with these:
Is it any wonder why I am such a sucker for him?

I didn't think so either...

Park City

So much about us and our relationship has to do with Park City ... it's just a fun place to be. It happens to be where Jeff decided he was definitely going to marry me ... and where he asked me :)! So many fun weekends and anniversaries have been celebrated there. So we decided to go this weekend to celebrate the long weekend ... and that in 5 weeks-ish we will go from 2 to 3.

We stayed at the Canyons - where both infamous moments mentioned above happened. We even ate dinner at the restaurant we got engaged at ... it was so fun! Then we did a little shopping (I mean come ON what is Park City without shopping?)! I love spending time with Jeff with a great excuse to have our cell phones off and the world to know we are unavailable. It's the best time ever ...

Overall, it was just what the Dr. ordered ... lots of R & R and one on one time ... the perfect way to spend any weekend!

Released

It's official ... they released our YW presidency yesterday. After 3 years with the girls I am a civilian again. It's bittersweet ... I will miss them so much! It is such a special opportunity to get to know them so well, and to be a part of their lives. I loved watching them grow and knowing what makes them tick. But at the same time it feels like it was time for a change. Now I get to focus on becoming a mom for a while and then get a calling that I am sure will challenge me in a completely different way. It feels really strange to not have a calling ... that hasn't happened for 9 years!

I am so excited for the girls though ... the new presidency will be fantastic! They are all amazing, strong women and will teach the girls so much. And I know they will learn so much themselves.

So I'm saying goodbye to YW for now ...

Hooky

Do you ever just want to play hooky for a day? When your husband comes to kiss you goodbye for the day do you ever just hold him a little bit tighter and longer than normal and say "let's just play hooky and stay home together today?" He always agrees it sounds like the best possible plan... and then we chat and hug for a few moments more ... and then we both go about our nice, responsible, adult lives.

I was having one of those mornings. Maybe it's knowing we both have schedules planned out from 8 am to 8 pm tonight ... maybe it's knowing we only have 7 weeks until we have a baby ... or maybe it's just loving him so much that the day seems to stretch out in front of me with out him around.

Maybe it's all three today ...

For the record we haven't ever followed through with it. I guess deep down we are just too darn responsible for our own good. But maybe ... just maybe we will soon.

What a week!

It's been a week/weekend of busy events ...

My parents finally moved into "the house" and are getting settled ... it is beautiful and was definitely worth the wait! Needless to say it was a week of late nights for everyone involved, and Saturday the official "move day" was long and tiring! Obviously I couldn't help in the actual moving, but I was in charge of putting things away in the kitchen and keeping my mom sane. The latter job MUCH more difficult that the first one :)!

We managed to sneak over the Babies R Us before the after-the-move-it's-James'-Birthday family dinner that night and picked up our swing, and some bottles to get us started.

Yesterday Jamers turned 12! Holy cow that seems weird to say. We got to go over and Jeff participated in his ordination to becoming a deacon. He looked so cute in his suit! I can't believe he is getting so old.

And then we finished off last night with a long talk. One of my favorite memories from when Jeff and I started dating was the fact that we could talk for hours and never get bored. We still can, but life is a lot busier now and we have less time in general to spend just talking. But last night we got to talking a little after 8 and ended up staying up past 1 am ... I love those moments. They remind me yet again how lucky I am to have him and for us to be us.
